Meet Miley Cyrus and Hannah Montana. Megan finally got the fish she has been waiting for, and although I have no idea how she knows about Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus, she does and has insisted on naming her fish as such! She has also named her Webkin horse Miley Cyrus! Who knows! The important thing is that she's very proud of her fish and is doing a great job of caring for them :-)

McCann Family Birthday

So, I'm way past due on this post, but I had to download pictures from my sister-in-law's Snapfish account before I could do anything. As it turns out, the pictures are too small for a slideshow, but I'll add some to the post for fun :-) The rest are in my Photobucket Account under McCann Family Birthday.

We started a tradition about 3 years ago of getting together once a year to celebrate the birthdays in the McCann family. This became necessary because, between the months of July and October, there are about 12?? birthdays. That's a lot of get-togethers! This year, we all went to Renee's, one of my sister-in-laws. We barbecued and just hung out for the afternoon. It was fun getting together and I have to say, the little ones did quite well! Now that we have a few more spring birthdays, we may start having two parties, but we'll see :-)

I wish I could make the pictures bigger and still maintain the quality, but since I can't, this will have to do!

Kona Kitchen

This past weekend we had the pleasure of enjoying dinner out with our good friends Heidi and Jeff and Jeff's daughter Danielle, Chrissy and Jared and their daughter Violet. We ate at this little Hawaiin BBQ place that has delicious food and is definitely family friendly. I learned something though: our days of eating out with the little ones may have come to an end for a while. Now that Hailey is constantly on the move, she's just not interested in sitting in the high chair. Oh well....dinner at home works fine too :-) I uploaded all of the pictures to our Photobucket account, so if you want to see them all, click on mccannpics and choose the Kona Kitchen album. Some pictures were sent to me, but they were too small for the slideshow.

Tear Jerker

I sent this out on email as well. It's a tear jerker, but well worth the visit. It is a powerful reminder of how important it is to cherish each moment with our children and how, despite the length of time we have with them, they are here to touch us and change our lives!

I feel blessed everyday to have my children with me because there are many families with our same experience who had to say good-bye!

Moving Up!

With Megan attending Kindergarten out of district, I've been driving her to and from school. Up until this week, I've been walking her in and walking her out, which means unloading and loading the babies each time. Well, she's made some great strides since last week. She now lets me drop her curbside like many of the other students, and she is riding the bus in the afternoon with her friend Claire. Now I only have to load and unload twice a day instead of 4 times! Thanks for being such a big girl Megan :-)

Megan Turns 5!

On Wednesday, September 17, Megan turned the ripe old age of 5. We had a great time celebrating her bithday this year. We started out by having a little "Beading Bash" on Sunday with her friends at the local craft store, Ben Franklin. They were kind enough to let me reserve their classroom so I could rest assured that my little ones would not be choking on beads! And thanks to my mom for hanging out with the babies so I could make this happen. After the beading, we went to Megan's favorite place, McDonald's, where the girls ate happy meals, enjoyed cupcakes, and watched Megan open her gifts. She loves every gift and actually spends time playing with her new stuff. On Wednesday, I made Megan her favorite breakfast, pancakes, which she usually only gets on a weekend day. Then she chose to bring doughnut holes to her class for treats. That night, we went to Applebees for dinner, her other favorite restaurant, where we had some great food and enjoyed a night out. She couldn't wait to get home and open her gifts, as any 5 year old would feel. She was happy about getting a certificate to finally get a fish, and she liked her new book and horse stable as well! All in all, it was a great birthday for her. It's hard to believe she is already 5! Time sure flies :-)

Soccer Stars

Megan started soccer this month and so she and Tim have had some fun practicing in the backyard. Well, Hailey has decided she wants to play as well and does her best to get right in the middle of things!

As soon as the season is over, I'll compile the best pictures from Megan's games and put together a slideshow! She is really having a great time and has improved so much from last year! It's a lot of fun to watch her play.

BBQ Babe

So, Andrew is pretty sure he's ready to take over the bbq duties! He really enjoys slamming the front basket thing up and down! Hmm.....boy???

Splash Away

The kiddos have now discovered that there is a whole backyard to explore, not just the blanket we put them on. They also have decided that's it's great fun to splash in Megan's pool from the side! It's a kick to watch and listen to them squeal in delight!

What's for Dinner?

Way back when we first had all three babies home, Tim would call me and see how I was doing, which always included the question "You aren't ready to bake the kids are you?" It kind of became a joke, but there are times.....just kidding! Apparently Hailey missed the joke part !

Little Reader

Megan brought this little book home from school and was very excited about the fact that she could read it to me. I was very proud as I watched her carefully track and read each word! And to think, I get to do this 4 times over :-) I think God gives us children so we can feel proud without being prideful!
Now, I realize she probably had the book memorized before leaving school, but the first step to learning how to read is to be excited about it! I think we are well on our way :-)

Spaghetti Feed

Well, I did something brave this week. I let the little ones eat spaghetti. Brave, you ask? Yes, because spaghetti stains and I strongly dislike stains! I can handle mess, the sticky and the goupy, believe me, I've learned. But stains, they really get me! I'd have to say though, based on the pictures, my children loved it and it was well worth the clean-up effort! Even Megan cleared her plate at dinner that night. Go figure! As a kid, spaghetti was my favorite meal, especially when my grandma was making it :-) So I've decided, on bath night, we can have spaghetti for dinner :-)

As soon as I removed their trays, Hailey and Andrew went for the dropped noodles.

After....they don't look so clean anymore!

The damage...not too bad I suppose. It was nothing a wet rag couldn't fix!

Overall, the spaghetti experience wasn't so bad and I would definitely do it again. They loved eating it and it was a fun to see them get so messy. Well, sort of! And of course, as is my style, there was a clean-up "system" that followed! The floor first, then one baby and feeding seat at a time! All the seats and trays went outside for a spray down afterwards!
