RSV....continued

Well, Hailey is doing much better and will likely go home today. Molly is hanging in there respiratory-wise, but she's refusing to take her bottle, so we have to see what she does. The docs want to keep her at the hospital to monitor her, as she could be just entering the worst of the RSV course, however, with the Synagis on board, she may have an easier time fighting it off. Andrew is still hanging out at home, showing some signs of the virus, but still breathing okay. We are keeping our fingers crossed that this will be the worst of it! Thank you all for your support and words of encouragement! I know we'll get through this and it will become just another chapter in our life, but we certainly apppreciate all of the prayers and support!

RSV x 3

Well, just as I suspected, Molly and Andrew both tested positive for RSV. Right now, they are doing okay, but that was the course Hailey took as well. Andrew's right ear appears to be infected, but he doesn't seem too bothered by it at the moment. Molly is running a fever and coughing, so I have to keep a very close eye on her. Both of their sats were good this morning, so I'll continue to monitor that as well. I'm waiting to hear from Molly's pulmonologist to see what he would like me to do as far as bringing her in or just watching her at home! Hailey is still at Children's with Tim, we aren't sure how long they want to keep her. She's doing about the same as last night.

Will continue to update as new things occur! Thanks for your prayers and support!

RSV update

Well, if you don't already know, Hailey was admitted last night for respiratory complications due to RSV , and I'm fairly certain that Andrew is coming down with it as well. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the first round of Synagis for Molly will keep her protected. As of this evening, Hailey was showing signs of improvement and maintaining acceptable sats without the assitance of O2. I think as soon as she's willing to eat and drink, she'll be able to come home. If you believe in prayer, please send some up for my family, as we face the newest challenge!

Thanks so much!

A Little Bit of Christmas

Well, I know I need to post the pictures and tell about all the fun stuff regarding Christmas, but I have a little one, Hailey, with RSV and have been pretty much focused on that. But, here are just a few pics to keep you satisfied until I have more time!

Hailey, all dressed up!

Colin and Molly, having a stare down I think!

The kids playing with the new drum!

Let it snow, let it snow, let snow!

Watching the kids watch the snow is always heartwarming!

Even Molly found a way to see the sights!

So much for a covered patio!

Hey, where did the flower beds go??

Here's to a Winter Wonderland!

Yummy!

Hey, everyone loves a thumbprint cookie!

A Busy Day!

Well, in an attempt to pass the frigid day indoors, we baked our first round of Christmas cookies, played around with the camera, thanks to the help of my friend Allison, and indulged Hailey's love of wearing coats!

The First Tray

MMM, looks good!

Andrew and Hailey attempting to help decorate....

As usual, she's not that interested!

On a side note, they now eat sandwich wedges rather than little pieces!

Hailey, thinkin' she's pretty cool in big sissy's coat!

And now featuring, "The Kid in the Cupboard".

Starring Andrew Q. McCann

The first attempt at a tree picture....

Allison's expertise at adjusting the camera settings!

As you can see, it was a busy day and at the end, I was glad it was over! We'll see what today brings :-)

First Snow

Find me a kid who can resist the first snow of the season! Apparently, Megan cannot! Here she is in her jammas just having a great old time! Of course, I was freezing, but mom's gotta do what mom's gotta do! Also note, Andrew stood by the backdoor a few days ago when the first flakes appeared, but unfortunately didn't amount to anything! We'll see how they like it tomorrow :-)

Tis the Season

After nearly 9 years of boycotting outdoor Christmas lights, this year we finally braved the elements. Our first Christmas together there was a windstorm just days after putting up the lights, and we haven't done it since. We also finally got our tree put up and decorated, although it was quite the process. I'm proud of myself for finally relinquishing the tree to my husband and kids, and foregoing my usually decorations. We now have multi-colored blinking lights, a multitude of bulbs and other ornaments, and I even left off the ribbon! We'll see how the little ones react when they get their first glimpse of the decorated tree!

December Stuff

Well, things have been unusally busy around the McCann home lately. In the midst of the Nasty Bug that has been visiting, we've been working on a tree project for Megan, trying to keep the kiddos entertained, and enjoying a great visit from my Aunt Liisa. She missed the snow by 2 days, but that's okay! She got a good dose of cold weather :-)

Happy Thanksgiving!

This year our Thanksgiving was very low key and we had a great time. We started out with breakfast at our house with Tim's family. Everyone pitched in and the food was delicious. I was cleaned up, swept, mopped, and vacuumed by 1 pm. I actually got to sit down and enjoy looking at the ads in preparation for Black Friday. Later that day Tim and Megan were feeling disappointed with no turkey, so we ventured to my mom's for a quick turkey dinner! Thanks for welcoming us at the last minute mom! All in all, it was a perfect Turkey day and I'd do it again anytime. Oh yeah, we are! Christmas Eve breakfast :-)

Surprise Visit

My two college sisters surprised the rest of us by coming home for Thanksgiving! They showed up at my door and I was so excited, I actually let out a scream! That's nearly unheard of, as I usually keep my emotions under wraps. Needless to say, we had a great time visiting and it didn't take the kiddos long to warm up!

Snuggles for Aunti Biz!

Look at me Auntie Biz! Wait, are you sleeping??

Molly and Aunt Tee Tee! Smilin' beauties :-)

It was really great having them home after being gone for 3 months! Can't wait to have them back for Christmas :-)

Random Stuff

So, I've taken lots of pictures lately but haven't gotten them posted. Here are just a few to amuse you :-)

Okay, so who needs WWF when I have Wrestle Mania in my own home? The girls get on these kicks sometimes and really have fun wrestling each other. They must it from their dad!

I got her mom!

What???

Could this little girl be any cuter? She climbed herself into the bin and decided to check out the Winnie the Pooh book.

This is what happens when mom doesn't get the gymnastics clothes washed. I have to say, though, Megan has always had her own sense of style :-)

Soooo tired!

Did I mention she was cute??

Hailey's turn to slow dance with daddy! She never passes up an opportunity!

Songs of the Season

Well, I'm officially as annoying and obnoxious as the radio stations that play only Christmas music from now until Dec. 25Th. I hope you enjoy some of my favorite Christmas songs :-)

Out with the Fall, in with the Winter

Well, as much as I hate to say good-bye to my beautiful fall background, I figure since the commercials are filled with Christmas music and decorations, it's officially time for winter!
