Hello Out There......

Hold on to your hats people! That's right, Heather's actually updating her blog! I know, it's been since July and it's not that we've been sitting around like bumps on a log! Oh no, quite the contrary. Let's see, since the last blog post, we took two more camping trips, a 12 road trip to California, celebrated a wedding, Megan's 7th birthday, and OH....Heather took a temporary full-time teaching job! Yes, that explains the absence from blogging. But, I find myself with a rare stolen moment to post a few pics of the last couple of months.

All the kids did swimming lessons:

Megan learned to swim...
Molly is an expert bubble blower...

Next...the 12 day road trip to Southern CA. The kids and I caravaned down with my mom, sister, and good friend Robin. We made it there and back with no glitches, no DVD player, and not a CD to boot! That's right...even scarier? I'd do again in a heartbeat!
Day 1-Bonney Lake to Redding, CA
Pit stop at a rest stop...

Beautiful Mt. Shasta
Made it to Redding. What's better than 85 degree evenings and a 1 ft. kiddie pool?
Day 2: Redding to Santa Barbara

The vineyards along the 101 were gorgeous!

Almost there...

We made it!

Day 3: Galeta (Santa Barbara)
A day at the beach...

My Beach Beauty

Sun Bathin' Babes!
I can't remember what this is called, but Jakob was determined to teach Megan!
Someone was playing in the sand!
Sharing chips with Grammy!

Of course, Jake mastered it right away!
Snubble Bums!

BTW-She's terrified of birds...(hee hee)

Looks like she's got it!
University of California, Santa Barbara
Taking a walk along the pier...
Me and my sis!
How could I resist?
Two pretty ladies!
Time to paddle board! Even I got on one of these things...it was a blast!

Day 4-to be cont....

Road Trip Cont....

Day 4: The Bluffs and Santa Barbara Zoo
My aunt, sister and I walked up a dusty trail to reach this lookout point. The area is called The Bluffs.
Just over that piece of land is UC Santa Barbara.
Smile...I just got a job! Literally, I had just hung up the phone with the principal who offered me the temporary full-time teaching position!

Just a cool place to take a picture!
Santa Barbara Zoo...probably the neatest zoo I've been to. Well, it's a close race with Santa Ana zoo, but this was right by the beach!

A stare down with a bird...
Such a cool looking animal that I don't think I had seen before!
Group shot...Yes, I took all these kids to the zoo by myself! Good thing Jake came along!
Yep...that's Elephant poop!
Tired kiddos making their way up the stairs!
Looks like we found the monkey...
...make that Monkeys!
Another group shot!
Such a big girl now!
Flamingos
A turf covered hill and pieces of cardboard...GENIUS!

Ready to Roll...too bad we were on our way out :-)

One of my chicks...

We had such a great time at the zoo. I think it was possibly my favorite day of the whole entire trip!
Days 5-12...to be cont.!
